Converted svg files are being changed to Microsoft Edge files
(1/1)
anneh:
I purchased 500 conversion credits yesterday and started on my ~400 files. All seemed to be well, but....
.... today, the files the 'Save link as..' is giving me Microsoft Edge files, which are unreadable by my CanvasWorkspace software. I've done 154 files so far. I thought last night that it was working properly, but I was tired and can't be sure.
Windows 10 is my OS and Edge is my browser.
How do I fix this?
Thanks

Hello
What is the file extension? Is it still SVG or has it be changed to something else?

Thanks Ian
Sorry for the slow reply - the email telling me of a response ended up in my spam folder
The files were showing as svg with the correct icon the first night i was doing conversions. MS Edge the next day. I associated a single svg file with Brother CanvasWorkspace and this changed all the icons to the correct one. After that the problem went away. I've now finished the conversions.
Can pick your brain on a different file conversion - .gst to .svg The .gst is an old type used by Silhouette and appears to be a QuickCutz Silhouette file. Any ideas? I only have about 20 of these, so it's no big deal if I can't convert them - more a passing curiosity. Sorry if I've overstepped a line by asking - fell free to ignore it if I have!
Cheers
Anne
The Wizard:
Hello
Sometimes updates cause the file associations to change to a different application.
GST files, are just GSD Template files with the file extension changed to GSD, to stop them from being overwritten when saved. They are created with the Graphtec ROBO Master software, and can be open in Silhouette Studio.
You can use the http://www.ideas-r-us-software.uk/FileConverters/GraphtecGSDConverter.aspx, but sometimes they don’t convert correctly.
