FCM to SVG converter
« on: 25 April 2016, 02:06:48 »
Hello, I just found your exciting FCM to SVG converter . .  I notice however that it started with 10 conversion left formy IP Address ..  and after I converted one file from FCM to SVG it now says 9 left.  Does that mean I can only convert 9 more files?  how do I gain access to this converter to use indefinately?  do I download somewhere for a fee to use it?  thank you so much

You can convert upto 10 files (FCM/GSD/Sil. Studio) per day, then you will have to wait upto 24 hours before you can convert another 10.

You can also purchase conversion credits http://www.ideas-r-us-software.uk/Shop/ShopProducts.aspx

Hello Ian . . I just went to the link to learn about the conversion credits I can buy . . it's very reasonable.  When I get ready to convert many files that is what I will do.   Thank you very much for creating this conversion program . .  I've been waiting for someone to do it !!!

If you've got a Windows based machine and have purchased Conversion Credits, you can download a Desktop Interface to the Online Convert from http://www.ideas-r-us-software.uk/DesktopInterfaceToOnlineFileConverter.aspx, instead of using the web based interface.

This is basically a batch file converter. You can try it out to see how it works, but you cannot convert anything until you've purchased Conversion Credits.

Hello Ian and thank you very much for your converter, like most people I've been waiting for this program but a few questions before I purchase if you don't mind.
Firstly, is there a time limit on when you have to use your credits
Secondly, can you pull through many files at once to convert or do you have to do them one at a time.
Lastly, how do I keep track of the number of files I convert
Many thanks

1. There's no expiry date on the conversion credits purchased.
2. There is a desktop 'batch' converter for Windows http://www.ideas-r-us-software.uk/DesktopInterfaceToOnlineFileConverter.aspx.
3. They is no way to keep track of what's been converted or not. The Desktop Interface To Online File Converter does keep a log of what's been converted, but you can still convert the same file again, and again, and again.

Well I've bought the converter and I cannot praise it enough....I've spent the last 2 evenings sorting out my other files and what a new toy I have, can you tell me Ian do you have any plans to make the program so you can drag and drop the files into it

Seems like you've been busy with Studio and GSD/GST files as well :) .

There will be a standalone desktop converter later this year, that will also have the FCM Thumbnail Viewer and Silhouette Studio Library File Extractor built in.

Sorry Ian for some reason I cant find the link....  regarding the silhouette library folder missing....I think I've sorted it and now realise you have to have the silhouette software installed.  I'll do that on my days off from work and let you know how I go on, however I'm a little disappointed with the file converter as I
duplicated files to the sum of 315 of the same name and that's a lot of wastage. Is there any way the program can pick up duplicated files and warn you before conversation saving on your amount you have paid for.

The Silhouette Studio Library file Extractor doesn't need Silhouette Studio installed, only the library that was created.

I did say there was no way to keep track of what has been converted, or not converted. It is possible to add a way to track what's been successfully converted, and show/warn/ignore those files.

I did ask you this here http://ideas-r-us.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=43.msg86#msg86

Can you please attach the 'StudioLibraryFolderContents-Vista-7-8-10.txt' file as well, since the 'XP' file is blank (as it should be running on Windows 10).

If this is blank as well, the Silhouette Studio Library is missing.
